Hello Friends!!!

Happy Monday!!!

We hope that you all had a lovely weekend.  Here is a look ahead at our week.  

Important Dates: 

Monday April 9th: Lunch Module Opens

Monday April 13th: Lunch module Closes

Tuesday April 24th:  Coin Project Due 

What we are learning: 

ELA- Finishing "Signmaker's Assistant" test will be Tuesday April 10

Continuing with contractions,  plurals, story elements and proper use of commas.  Our Spelling test on our "ar" words will be on Thursday, April 12th.  

Math- Continuing chapter 7 (money and time).  Practice at home using coins.  See if the students can tell you what time you are eating dinner at.  (we will begin time after we finish our lessons on change).   

Religion- Finishing chapter 16- The Last Supper, Test on Wednesday.  Beginning our next chapter on Giving Thanks to God.

Hello Friends!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!

We hope that you all had a lovely Easter.  Here is a look ahead.  

Important Dates: 

April 6-  First Friday Mass 

What we are learning: 

ELA- Beginning our new story: Signmaker's Assistant.  We will be focusing on "ar" words (our spelling words), and the correct use of commas and punctuations while writing.  We will also be working on our Mother's Day plays.

Math- Finishing chapter 6 (three digit subtraction).   We will be beginning chapter 7: Money and Time

Religion- Beginning chapter 16-  The Last Supper

Science/Soc. Studies- Discussing signs and their importance in our communities

Good Morning Friends!  

Happy Monday!  We hope that you all had a nice weekend! 

Just a reminder: 

As we begin our 3rd trimester, we are preparing for 3rd grade.   The students will continue to copy their homework daily into our "H" copybooks.  There will not be a homework sheet.  .

We have also begun discussing our Mother's Day plays.  The plays will be performed for our moms in May.  As we begin this process, your student may ask to bring in parts of a costume.  Please do not go out to buy anything!  More information regarding the plays and the date will be given as we get closer.

Thursday March 22nd- Pretzel Orders due

Friday March 23rd- Last day for Candy and Yearbook Orders

Tuesday March 27th- No school, Faculty Retreat

Thursday March 29th April 2nd- Easter Break, Happy Easter! 

What we are learning this week:

Math: Continuing Chapter 6 (3 Digit Addition and Subtraction)

Reading: Continuing our new story: My Name is Gabriela.  We will continue learning subject/verb agreement, suffixes (y and ful), the verb "be", Long e Sound as Y- our spelling words, and continuing with narrative writing/descriptive paragraphs. 

Religion: Completing Chapter 15- We Gather for Mass and Palm Sunday 

Social Studies and Science: Spring has Sprung, and Scholastic News

Good Morning Friends!  

Happy Monday!  We hope that you all had a nice weekend! 

Some important information: 

As we begin our 3rd trimester, we are preparing for 3rd grade.   The students will begin copying their homework daily into their "H" copybooks.  There will not be a homework sheet.  

Report cards for the 2nd trimester will be sent home on Friday.

We have also begun discussing our Mother's Day plays.  The plays will be performed for our moms in May.  As we begin this process, your student may ask to bring in parts of a costume.  Please do not go out to buy anything!  More information regarding the plays and the date will be given as we get closer.

Happy Monday!  We hope that you all had a nice weekend! To those of you who lost power; we hope you are finally warming up!  

Important Dates:

Tuesday March 6th- GYM for both classes (Room 205 please wear your gym uniform on Tuesday of this week instead of Wednesday)

Friday March 9th- NO SCHOOL Teacher in-service and 2nd Trimester Ends 

What we are learning this week:

Hello Friends!!!

Here is what's happening this week!  We hope you all have a fabulous week!! 

Important Dates:

Thursday Feb. 29- Early Dismissal for all students (Happy Confirmation to our 6th grade!) 

What we are learning: 

Math: Completing Chapter 5; 2 digit subtraction (modeling, regrouping, and break aparts). 

ELA: We have just begun our new readers!!!! This week we are starting with our new story "Mr. Tanen's Tie Trouble", Adding "ed" and "ing"  (spelling words), pronouns, homographs

We will also be beginning our supplemental reading story: Charlotte's Web and creating a diamanté poem 

Religion: Chapter 13: The Forgiving Father and parables 

Social Studies/Science: Discussing what "News" is and Dr. Seuss Day (March 2nd)

Important Dates:

Lunch module opens on 2/12 and closes on 2/16

Tuesday Feb. 13- Pizza lunch courtesy of parents.  Please remember to bring in a snack and drink! 

Wednesday Feb. 14- Ash Wednesday 

What we are learning: 

Math: Finishing Chapter 5; 2 digit subtraction (modeling, regrouping, and break aparts). 

ELA: Beginning "Officer Buckle and Gloria", compound words (spelling words), cause and effect, abbreviations

* Reading Test on Helen Keller and Spelling Test (long o words) will be Tuesday Feb. 13

We will also be beginning our supplemental reading story: Charlotte's Web 

Religion: Finishing chapter 11: we worship God and beginning Chapter 12

* Test on Chapter 11 will be on Wednesday Feb. 14

Social Studies/Science: Presidents and our country, safety and signs in our communities
