Hello friends!

Welcome back and welcome 2018!  We hope you all had a lovely break and a happy new year.  Here is a look at what is happening this week.

Important dates:
January 10th: 3D Day

Math Games: We have begun collecting materials to build our math games. The games will be made in groups during class time.  Materials we are looking for include: old game pawns or pieces, toy cars, cards, dice, timers, spinners, BOXES or POSTER BOARD.  Any materials you could share would be greatly appreciated.  We will begin building our games later in the week.

My Family Packet:  This Catholic Schools Week we will be celebrating our school community and our belief that "We are many.  We are one." As we prepare to celebrate our cultures and differences, we will be learning more about where our families come from.  A family history packet will be going home today with your student (Tuesday January 9th).  We ask that you complete this fun project together.  All packets will be due Wednesday January 24th.

This week we are learning:
ELA: Continuing our story: Click Clack Moo.  We will be working with plurals adding "s" and "es"(our spelling words), prefixes "pre" and "mis", compound sentences and building our fluency strategies
MATH: Continuing chapter 4, adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers (problem solving, break a-parts, fact families,  and regrouping/borrowing)
RELIGION: Chapter 8: Traveler to Emmaus and the Gospels
SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE: Our families and heritage

Saint for the month of January: Saint Vincent DePaul

We want to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2018.
Thank you all for all you do!  Stay warm!
